Audit Senior – Public Practice

About the role

Butler Rose Public Practice Northern Division is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join its growing Wilmslow office. You will work closely with managers and directors, taking ownership of audit engagements from planning through to completion across a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute external audit assignments from start to finish.
• Take ownership of allocated audit areas, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct fieldwork on client premises and build strong professional relationships.
• Identify and communicate audit issues, recommending further investigation where needed.
• Review and support the work of junior team members.
• Adhere to agreed deadlines and budgets while maintaining high‑quality standards.
• Provide occasional support on accounts preparation and corporation tax work.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification, or part‑qualified with strong progress.
• Several years of experience in external audit.
• Strong knowledge of audit procedures and statutory requirements.
• Commercially aware and confident dealing directly with clients.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car for client travel.
