Audit Senior – Accountancy Practice

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our busy Audit and Accounts team in Southampton. The role involves leading audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring high‑quality delivery for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and finalise audit and accounts preparation assignments in line with internal processes.
• Prepare and finalise financial statements and tax computations.
• Present audit files to Business Advisors and Directors for review according to agreed schedules.
• Monitor audit assignment budgets and manage cost control.
• Set objectives for junior audit staff, supervise on‑site work and provide on‑the‑job training.
• Review junior staff work, give constructive feedback and support their development.
• Maintain regular communication with Business Advisors, Directors and clients on progress.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) – part‑qualified candidates will also be considered.
• Recent audit experience in a practice environment, including leading external audit assignments.
• Strong knowledge of FRS102.
