Autism Specialist Teacher

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking an Autism Specialist Teacher to join a supportive, inclusive school in Doncaster. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to deliver tailored instruction to pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, fostering academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons adapted to individual autism‑related needs.
• Maintain a structured, predictable classroom environment using visual supports and clear routines.
• Employ autism‑friendly communication strategies to develop pupils’ social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Monitor and assess academic, social and emotional progress, adjusting support as required.
• Collaborate with support staff, parents, therapists, SENCOs and external professionals to ensure coordinated provision.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with pupils with autism in SEN, specialist or mainstream settings.
• Strong knowledge of autism‑specific teaching approaches and sensory‑aware techniques.
• Excellent communication, patience and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
• Flexible, resilient and child‑centred attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.
