Autism Support Worker

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a warm, nurturing primary SEN school in Lewisham. You will work with children aged 4‑11 who have autism and additional needs, helping them thrive in a structured, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to each child's needs.
• Deliver fun, engaging, age‑appropriate learning activities.
• Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence and early life‑skills development.
• Help maintain a positive, consistent, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Experience with, or a strong interest in, supporting children with autism.
• Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with primary‑aged pupils.
• Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
