Autism Support Worker – Oxford (Full‑time)

About the role
This full‑time position supports children with autism and additional needs in a vibrant Oxford school. You will work closely with teachers and students, helping to create a positive, engaging learning environment while gaining valuable experience for a future career in education, psychology or therapy.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in preparing learning materials and lesson plans.
- Support students aged 4‑16 with daily classroom tasks and personal organisation.
- Monitor and record each child’s progress and wellbeing.
- Promote a safe, inclusive atmosphere and uphold safeguarding policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to address speech, language, behavioural and mental‑health needs.
Required profile
- Patience, nurturing attitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding importance.
- Interest in special educational needs, autism or related fields.
- Graduates or candidates with some experience working with SEN children are welcome.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required; focus is on interpersonal and organisational abilities.
