Autism Support Worker – Primary SEN School (Lewisham)

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a warm, child‑centred primary SEN school in Lewisham. You will work with pupils aged 4‑11 who have autism and additional needs, helping them thrive in a structured, nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to each child's needs.
- Deliver fun, age‑appropriate learning activities that promote engagement.
- Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Encourage independence and the development of early life skills.
- Help maintain a positive, consistent, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
Required profile
- Experience or strong interest in supporting children with autism.
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with primary‑aged pupils.
- Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
