Autism Support Worker – Primary SEN School – Lewisham

About the role

Reeson Education is recruiting an Autism Support Worker for a warm, child‑centred primary SEN school in Lewisham. You will work with pupils aged 4‑11 who have autism and additional needs, helping them thrive in a structured, supportive environment. The position starts in September on a full‑time, temporary basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support tailored to each child's needs.
• Deliver fun, age‑appropriate learning activities that promote confidence and skill development.
• Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence and early life‑skills acquisition.
• Help maintain a positive, consistent, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in supporting children with autism.
• Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with primary‑aged pupils.
• Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
