Auto Electrician – Caterpillar Trucks (Peterlee, North East England)

About the role

Join a modern manufacturing environment as an Auto Electrician on a temporary full‑time assignment with Caterpillar Articulated Trucks in Peterlee. You will work on the electrical systems of off‑highway vehicles, supporting both new designs and existing product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test and commission electrical components on new off‑highway vehicle designs.
• Diagnose faults and resolve issues in electrical systems for current product models.
• Perform routine service and maintenance on vehicle electrical aspects.
• Follow standard work procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
• Handle manual lifting tasks as required.

Required profile

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship as an Auto Electrician.
• Experience in off‑highway, bus, train or commercial vehicle sectors.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

• Hourly rates from £19.55 to £39.10, with overtime at time‑and‑a‑half (Mon‑Sat) and double time (Sun).
