Azure Infrastructure Engineer – 12 month contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join our technology‑focused team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will play a key role in maintaining and expanding our Azure and Microsoft 365 environments while supporting the service desk and improving our security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and implement new solutions within Isio’s Azure tenants, handling alerts, virtual‑machine upkeep and resource provisioning following best practice.
• Develop and maintain automation tooling (e.g., PowerShell, Power Automate, Tines) to streamline deployments and recurring tasks.
• Implement and manage monitoring solutions such as DataDog to report on performance and availability across multiple tenants.
• Maintain and extend the Microsoft 365 stack, including Entra ID, Intune, the admin portal and Defender for Endpoint.
• Enhance the company’s security posture, ensure compliance with standards and support audit evidence for accreditations.
• Deliver small to large projects that introduce new services or improve existing ones within the IT landscape.
• Act as an escalation point for the service desk, identify root causes and drive resolutions.
• Document all implemented resources in Confluence or an equivalent knowledge base.

Required profile

• Strong proven knowledge of Azure services such as Entra ID, App Services, Storage, Backups, Conditional Access, Front Door and Load Balancers.
• Experience administering the Microsoft 365 suite, Intune and Defender for Endpoint.
• Hands‑on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting services.
• Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., Tines, N8N, Zapier, Power Automate, PowerShell).
• Experience using Azure DevOps or similar to deliver Infrastructure‑as‑Code with ARM or Bicep templates and YAML pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native/serverless components, containerisation and Azure App Service Plans.
• Strong background in system monitoring tools to troubleshoot performance and availability issues.
• Effective communication with stakeholders of varying technical levels.
