Band 5 Staff Nurse – Investigation & Treatment Room

About the role

The Royal Northern Infirmary in Inverness is seeking a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the busy Investigation and Treatment Room (ITR). The ITR provides pre‑ and post‑treatment investigations for medical and surgical patients, serving over 1,800 patients each month.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver wound assessment and treatment for patients attending the clinic.
• Supervise and support Senior Health Care Support Workers (SHCSW) on shift when required.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams at Raigmore Hospital to resolve patient issues and arrange necessary tests.
• Maintain accurate patient records using NHS Highlands computer systems.

Required profile

• Current registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced clinic environment.
• Strong communication skills for teamwork and patient interaction.

Required skills

• Wound assessment and treatment.
• Use of NHS Highlands computer systems, including Formstream, Trackcare, and SIC Store.
• Supervisory experience of healthcare support staff.
