Bank Activities Assistant – Care Home

About the role

This casual, part‑time bank role supports residents in a Barchester care home by creating a stimulating environment that promotes wellbeing, independence and social engagement. You will design and deliver imaginative activities that cater to a wide range of interests and abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement activity programmes tailored to individual resident needs.
• Facilitate group and one‑to‑one activities both inside the home and in the local community.
• Build relationships with residents, families and staff to understand preferences.
• Provide cover for staff absences, annual leave or sick leave as required.
• Maintain activity records and report on participation and outcomes.

Required profile

• Warm, empathetic and personable with a genuine love for working with older adults.
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive, “get‑things‑done” mindset.
• Enthusiastic, creative approach that encourages resident and staff involvement.
• Ability to adapt activities to suit varying abilities and interests.
• Willingness to undergo training and develop a career in care.
