About the role

Join Barchester Healthcare as a Bank Chef on a flexible, part‑time basis. You will work in a supportive environment delivering high‑quality, seasonal meals for residents while enjoying a better work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavourful menus tailored to resident preferences.
• Prepare fresh, seasonal dishes to hotel‑standard quality.
• Manage kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence, including stock control and budgeting.
• Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
• Support and motivate the kitchen team to maintain a warm, efficient atmosphere.

Required profile

• Qualified chef with City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience working with fresh, seasonal produce and a solid understanding of nutrition.
• Ability to lead and inspire a team, delivering person‑centred hospitality.
• Commitment to high standards of hygiene and food safety.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge and implementation.
