Bank Housekeeper – Residential Care Home

About the role

As a Bank Housekeeper at Glenholme Vera James House you will help keep a residential care home clean, safe and welcoming for residents, visitors and staff. The role is flexible, providing cover for annual leave, sickness and additional support when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
• Perform daily cleaning of bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms and kitchens.
• Support laundry services, including washing, drying and ironing.
• Follow infection‑control and COSHH guidelines at all times.
• Complete and accurately record cleaning schedules.
• Work closely with the care team to meet residents’ preferences.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or health‑and‑safety concerns.

Required profile

• Positive, reliable and hardworking attitude.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Understanding of infection control and COSHH guidelines.
