Bank Specialist Nurse - Cancer Services (Gynae)

About the role

Spire Little Aston Hospital is seeking a passionate and reliable Bank Specialist Nurse to join its Cancer Services team, focusing on gynaecological surgery patients. This flexible bank contract allows you to work on a varied schedule, supporting busy periods, sickness cover, or annual leave.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise workload and adapt to changing service needs while managing quality risks.
• Apply specialist knowledge of gynaecological surgery, physiology and post‑operative care to plan and evaluate patient care.
• Advise patients, relatives and carers on post‑operative care and provide treatments in line with local and national policies.
• Work flexibly within the department to deliver specialist gynaecological advice, teaching and liaison with other clinical teams.
• Ensure patients and carers have access to information for informed health decisions.
• Produce evidence‑based literature for staff and patients.
• Support continuous professional development for yourself and colleagues.

Required profile

• NMC registered Nurse with no pin restrictions.
• Significant senior‑level experience in gynaecology.
• Experience caring for patients undergoing gynaecological treatment.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical reasoning applied to complex patient cases.
