Banking Associate – Solicitor (5+ years PQE)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading law firm to recruit a Banking Associate solicitor. The successful candidate will join a dynamic legal team, handling a variety of banking and capital markets matters while supporting business development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate banking and capital markets documentation.
• Interact directly with clients, understand their needs and meet deadlines.
• Contribute to marketing and business development activities.
• Organise and maintain accurate client files, both hard‑copy and electronic.
• Provide support to fellow fee earners and share knowledge as required.
• Follow departmental procedures, Solicitor’s Accounts rules and firm policies.
• Assist with client and internal enquiries, chase paperwork, and issue invoices and progress reports.
• Meet or exceed monthly billing targets.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years post‑qualification experience in general banking law and/or capital markets transactions.
• Strong academic record (minimum 2:1 or First class degree).
• Excellent drafting ability and clear analytical thinking.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
