Banking Solicitor (5+ Years PQE) – London

About the role

The Legists are expanding their Banking and Finance team in London. This permanent position offers the chance to lead high‑value financing transactions for lenders, corporates and sponsors while working alongside experienced partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage financing deals, including leveraged finance, real estate finance, project finance and asset‑based lending.
• Draft and negotiate loan documentation, security agreements and related contracts.
• Provide commercial advice to clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, from instruction to completion.
• Mentor junior lawyers and support their development.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to generate business development opportunities.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in banking and finance.
• Proven experience in corporate lending, leveraged finance and/or real estate finance.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage client relationships with confidence.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent drafting abilities.

Required skills

• Technical drafting of financing agreements.
• Knowledge of leveraged finance structures.
• Understanding of real estate and project finance principles.
