Barrister (Magistrates Court) – Criminal Law

About the role

We are seeking a qualified solicitor or barrister to join a specialist crime‑only firm on a full‑time basis. The role focuses on representing clients in the Magistrates Court and offers the chance to work on dynamic criminal law matters.

Key responsibilities

• Represent clients in Magistrates Court hearings and trials.
• Prepare and manage cases from inception to conclusion, including evidence gathering, legal research, and client interviews.
• Advocate on behalf of clients during all stages of criminal proceedings.
• Provide expert legal advice to individuals facing criminal charges.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver a comprehensive legal service.

Required profile

• Qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister with a strong interest in criminal law and advocacy.
• Experience in criminal law practice, preferably with exposure to Magistrates Court work.
• Excellent advocacy and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Duty Solicitor qualification is advantageous but not essential.
