Behaviour Mentor – Primary School Support (Wokingham)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated graduate or aspiring psychologist to join a welcoming primary school in Wokingham as a Behaviour Mentor. You will work directly with pupils who need additional guidance to manage their behaviour, emotions and social interactions, helping them thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils requiring behavioural guidance.
• Encourage children to recognise, understand and regulate their emotions.
• Apply positive behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques.
• Assist class teachers in creating a calm, positive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families to ensure consistent support.
• Collaborate with the SEN team to implement tailored behaviour support plans.

Required profile

• Graduate or student in psychology, education, counselling or a related field.
• Patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about helping children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school setting.
