Behaviour Mentor – Strong Behaviour Support

About the role

We are partnering with an alternative provision school in Hackney to recruit a Strong Behaviour Mentor. The role starts in September 2026 and involves supporting approximately 100 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have moved from mainstream settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted behaviour interventions for pupils displaying challenging behaviours.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement personalised support plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and adjust strategies as needed.
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment throughout the school day (08:30‑15:00).

Required profile

• Positive, "can‑do" attitude with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
• Experience in psychology, SEMH, mental health, PRU or other alternative provision settings.
• Ability to work full‑time, five days a week, on‑site.

Required skills

• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques for SEMH pupils.
• Understanding of mental health challenges in educational contexts.
