Behaviour Support Assistant – Primary Schools

About the role

Join Tradewind Recruitment as a Behaviour Support Assistant working in primary schools across Bristol. You will support pupils who display challenging behaviour, helping them develop emotional regulation and positive decision‑making skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to students with challenging behaviour, assisting them to manage emotions and make positive choices.
• Implement school‑approved behaviour management strategies, using positive reinforcement and self‑regulation techniques.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, fostering respect and engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and monitor behaviour support plans.
• Apply de‑escalation techniques to manage disruptive situations safely.

Required profile

• Proven experience dealing with challenging behaviour in a school setting.
• Resilient and good‑humoured nature to navigate demanding situations.
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
• Availability for full‑time work, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.
