Behaviour Teaching Assistant – Secondary Alternative Provision

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision setting in Littlehampton. The role supports secondary‑aged pupils who require a different approach to learning, helping them overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to encourage engagement and positive behaviour.
• Assist teaching staff in delivering lessons and activities.
• Build trusting relationships and support pupils' social and emotional development.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑aged children or young people.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to set clear boundaries and build positive relationships.
• Genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.
