Bookkeeper needed for supportive, progressive accountancy firm

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well‑established chartered accountancy firm serving clients locally, nationally and internationally. The position is full‑time and based in Huntingdon, offering a supportive and friendly environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales and purchase invoices, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns within statutory deadlines.
• Carry out bank, credit‑card and control‑account reconciliations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date accounting records using cloud‑based accounting software.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and year‑end financial statements.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries and provide financial information.
• Process payroll and pension submissions where required.

Required profile

• Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy firm.
• AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience handling bookkeeping for multiple separate entities.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high accuracy.
