Brand Design Lead
Lorum · London
Job description
About the role
Lorum is a correspondent banking clearing and treasury platform founded in 2023, with USD clearing now the majority of its volumes. It is looking for a Brand Design Lead to own the brand identity and visual systems, designing and building cohesive, distinctive brand assets and applying the visual language consistently across every external surface. The role is hybrid, with 4 days per week in the London office in Fitzrovia.
Key responsibilities
- Inherit and systematize the existing brand foundation, then evolve the visual identity: logos, typography, colour, iconography, imagery and brand guidelines.
- Design and produce on-brand marketing assets such as website pages, decks, social posts, events and sales collateral.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library.
- Make sure all visual output communicates the precision and credibility expected by regulated institutional clients, and hold the line when something is not good enough to ship.
- Take work all the way to shipped: assets exported, hosted and live, without production work landing on someone else.
- Work closely with marketing, sales and product so the brand shows up consistently everywhere clients encounter it.
- Direct freelance and agency support where it helps, and create design specifications and documentation for engineering and external partners.
Required profile
- 6+ years of hands-on design experience, with a strong portfolio of work you designed yourself, covering visual identity, brand systems and marketing.
- Experience building and evolving brands within a scale-up environment.
- A strong background designing for B2B tech, with a clear understanding of how design builds trust and credibility.
- Evidence of independently delivering work from concept through to launch.
- Confidence working from imperfect briefs, challenging assumptions and shaping the right solution.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to explain design decisions to stakeholders.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Figma for design, prototyping and collaboration.
- Experience building or maintaining design systems and component libraries.
- Nice to have: fintech, payments or regulated industry experience; basic HTML/CSS for newsletter designs; motion design or advanced prototyping; some product UI experience; fluency with AI-assisted design tools.
What we offer
- Flexible vacation policy.
- Private healthcare.
- Employee stock ownership (ESOP).
- Flexible working and autonomy.
- Two annual "pay it forward" days to volunteer for a charity of your choice.
- Three wellness days every quarter to re-energize.
