Building & Facilities Manager – Sunderland

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established property management business to find a confident Building & Facilities Manager for a high‑profile, multi‑let commercial building in Sunderland city centre. You will own the day‑to‑day performance of the building, ensuring safety, compliance and an excellent occupier experience.

Key responsibilities

• Full day‑to‑day management of a busy multi‑let commercial property.
• Delivery of both hard and soft facilities management services to a high standard.
• Management of contractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Oversight of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, reactive maintenance and minor projects.
• Health & safety, statutory compliance and other regulatory obligations.
• Budget control, service‑charge monitoring and invoice approval.
• Tenant engagement, issue resolution and workplace experience initiatives.
• Support sustainability and ESG performance improvements.
• Leadership and support for on‑site team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial facilities or building management.
• Proven experience managing multi‑let commercial properties.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and statutory compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills.
• Ability to control budgets and monitor service charges.
