Building Maintenance Technician – Oxfordshire

About the role

We are seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to join a growing team delivering maintenance services across multiple sites in Oxfordshire. The role starts as a six‑month temporary position with weekly pay and the potential to become permanent in 2027. Core hours are 8 am‑5 pm Monday‑Friday with regular overtime, including weekends, paid at an enhanced rate.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out basic building repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Support routine inspections and testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting and other safety equipment.
• Complete logbooks, forms and electronic records related to maintenance activities.
• Assist with the induction and supervision of external contractors.
• Respond to help‑desk requests such as meeting‑room setups and furniture moves.
• Help with small projects, including office or laboratory relocations and refurbishments.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Genuine interest in hands‑on maintenance work and learning on the job.
• Willingness to travel regularly to sites in Abingdon and Didcot.
• Availability for out‑of‑hours overtime.
