Building Service Manager

About the role

The Building Service Manager will lead the mechanical and electrical (MEP) strategy for a regional main contractor operating across Oxfordshire. This senior position involves early‑stage technical input, tender support and close collaboration with design, commercial and operational teams to deliver high‑quality construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead MEP input during pre‑construction and live project phases.
• Review and coordinate mechanical and electrical design proposals, specifications and technical data.
• Provide technical input for tender submissions, conduct risk reviews and propose value‑engineering solutions.
• Manage M&E tendering processes and liaise with consultants, subcontractors and supply‑chain partners.
• Ensure building‑services packages are fully coordinated, compliant and aligned with programme requirements.
• Support sustainability targets and best‑practice compliance across all projects.
• Identify technical risks early and develop commercially sound mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Building Services Manager, MEP Manager or senior building‑services professional.
• Background in main contracting, consultancy or specialist M&E contracting.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within construction.
• Ability to work collaboratively with design, pre‑construction, project and commercial teams.
