Building Surveyor (STE05) – Rail Contractor

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Building Surveyor with full STE05 competence to join a rail client on a permanent basis. You will inspect station buildings, depots and lineside structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards while supporting safe and efficient rail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspections of operational property, including stations, depots and lineside buildings.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports using Citadel software and submit them to the Operations Director.
• Plan daily activities, secure access arrangements and coordinate with site personnel.
• Identify material defects and recommend remedial actions in line with relevant standards.
• Maintain a professional and courteous presence on site at all times.

Required profile

• Degree level education in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Full STE05 competency.
• Strong understanding of building materials and common defects.
• Valid UK driving licence and own vehicle for site travel.
