Bursar – School Business Manager (Fleetwood)

About the role

Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is seeking a Bursar to support a school in Fleetwood. The role involves managing the school’s financial and administrative processes while ensuring compliance with safeguarding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and process financial transactions for the school.
• Use the SIMS system to record and report financial data.
• Support day‑to‑day school administration and liaise with staff, pupils and external partners.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with accurate spelling and grammar.
• Previous experience in a similar school office or administrative role.
• Recent experience using school administrative and financial systems, particularly SIMS.
• Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
• Hardworking, flexible, proactive and able to build good relationships with children and adults.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding.
• Availability for part‑time or full‑time work and ability to travel locally.
