Business Analyst – 6 Month Contract

About the role

Our client, an international commodity trading company based in London, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst on a six‑month contract. The role focuses on improving automation and AI opportunities within finance reporting, trading profit & loss analysis, and cash‑flow performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide critical financial and analytical decision support for trading P&L and cash performance, ensuring global visibility.
• Identify, design and implement AI‑driven automation to streamline complex financial workflows, reporting and analytics.
• Leverage planning and ERP systems such as SAP to increase productivity and support automation adoption.
• Support controlling and commercial teams on processes (e.g., leases) and assess business impact.
• Build self‑service analytical tools and automate manual reporting for Monthly Business Review and other critical reports.
• Maintain robust internal controls to satisfy Financial Reporting Compliance audits and FCA regulations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in planning, business analysis, finance or accounting, preferably in both operational and corporate settings.
• Proven experience supporting business, technology, data or AI transformation programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with knowledge of financial governance, operational risk and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a fast‑paced team.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders across Trading, Commercial, Operations, Business Process and Technology.
