Business Continuity Specialist – 6‑month contract

About the role

We are supporting a leading financial services organisation in the UK with a Business Continuity Specialist on a six‑month contract. Reporting to the Head of Business Continuity & Protective Security, you will help refine, embed and deliver the resilience framework across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain the Business Continuity Management (BCM) lifecycle, ensuring consistent application.
• Contribute to the development and embedding of the Operational Resilience framework in line with regulatory expectations.
• Design and facilitate scenario‑based resilience exercises and severe‑but‑plausible testing.
• Maintain site‑specific Emergency Response Plans and facilitate incident/ERT calls as required.
• Lead annual BCM maturity self‑assessments.
• Engage stakeholders across the organisation to promote awareness and strengthen resilience capability.

Required profile

• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, comfortable operating at all levels.
• Background in Business Continuity, Risk or Governance within a regulated financial services environment.
• Analytical capability with attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture.
• Experience delivering workshops and resilience exercises.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
• Proactive, collaborative approach supporting wider team delivery.
