Business Development Manager – Commercial Trailer Rental (North England)

About the role

The client is a family‑run leader in articulated trailer contract hire and rental, operating across the North of England. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to grow market share, drive new contract hire agreements and promote an advanced trailer technology solution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to increase fleet utilisation and secure long‑term contract hire deals.
• Stay up‑to‑date with trailer technology trends and promote electronic brake monitoring, tracking and telematics solutions.
• Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
• Manage existing customer relationships while actively acquiring new clients across the North region.
• Work field‑based, covering key territories such as Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester.

Required profile

• Proven sales experience within the commercial heavy‑duty leasing or trailer sector.
• Strong track record of generating new business and closing long‑term agreements.
• Quick learner, highly motivated and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and structured thinking abilities.
• Based within or willing to travel regularly in the Sheffield, Leeds or Manchester areas.
