Business Development Manager – Courier (Southampton)

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth for our courier services in Southampton. You will identify new opportunities, build relationships and expand our domestic and international parcel portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and secure new business across multiple industry sectors.
• Generate leads through networking, prospecting, referrals and market research.
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations and site visits to understand requirements.
• Prepare competitive proposals, negotiate contracts and ensure profitable agreements.
• Collaborate with operational teams to implement new accounts.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs.
• Achieve agreed sales targets, KPIs and revenue objectives.

Required profile

• Proven track record in business development or field sales within courier, parcels, logistics, transport or supply‑chain.
• Demonstrated success in winning new business and meeting sales targets.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills.
• Self‑motivated, resilient and results‑driven.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM systems.
