Business Development Manager – Field Sales (South West)

About the role
Zero Surplus is seeking a commercially‑driven Business Development Manager to expand its presence in the South West. Working field‑based, you will act as a trusted advisor to contractors, OEMs, system integrators and other stakeholders, guiding them from early specification through to project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to meet sales targets.
- Identify, win and nurture new business opportunities across the South West market.
- Manage the full sales cycle – prospecting, presentations, negotiations and closing.
- Generate early‑stage product specifications and secure project opportunities.
- Maintain a robust pipeline, provide accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
Required profile
- Proven experience in business development, external or technical sales.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution or energy management.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Self‑motivated with the capacity to manage a regional territory independently.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West.
