Business Development Manager – Hybrid (London & South East)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business across London and the South East for a well‑established commercial services provider. The role is hybrid, with one day per week in the Berkshire head office and the rest remote or field‑based. Reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing, you will own the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract mobilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively identify and target new business opportunities.
• Manage and qualify a substantial volume of inbound leads.
• Book and attend client meetings and site surveys.
• Prepare tailored proposals and pricing solutions.
• Handle objections and negotiate contracts.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract mobilisation.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.
• Stay up to date with market trends and competitor activity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in direct, service‑based sales.
• Track record of selling contracts valued at £1.5m+ annually.
• Ability to balance inbound leads with proactive prospecting.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Resilient, self‑motivated approach.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in cleaning, facilities management, education or healthcare sectors is advantageous.
