About the role
The Business Development Manager will build and grow YouLend’s partner network across the UK, focusing on financial brokers, accountants, PSPs and other SME‑focused referral sources. You will manage an existing portfolio while actively acquiring new partners to drive loan origination volume.
Key responsibilities
- Establish a partnership portfolio in a new jurisdiction from scratch, targeting brokers, financial advisors, accountants and non‑traditional partners such as franchisors.
- Present performance metrics and strategic plans to senior management and C‑level executives.
- Lead the full sales cycle – from prospecting and qualification to pitching, negotiation, closing and go‑live.
- Design and implement a scalable account‑management strategy that delivers measurable growth.
- Collaborate with the Broker Partnerships lead to execute acquisition campaigns using webinars, newsletters and thought‑leadership content.
- Deliver training, webinars or workshops for partners and their teams.
- Support the European Business Development Lead with process improvements and portfolio management.
- Network through social media, industry events and partner‑focused social activities, including travel as required.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of partnership sales or business development experience in financial services or e‑commerce.
- Proven track record of meeting revenue targets through originating, negotiating and closing partnership agreements.
- Ability to report personal and jurisdiction performance clearly to senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk mitigation and management.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex solutions for senior audiences.
- Self‑motivated, accountable and comfortable working in a fast‑growing environment.
