Business Systems Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, customer‑focused Business Systems Specialist to join our growing team in Birmingham. Working at the heart of our operations, you will support key business systems, resolve user queries and help drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for colleagues needing assistance with business systems, processes and operational queries.
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve system‑related issues promptly.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand challenges and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support system enhancements, upgrades and change initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
• Monitor incidents and service requests, spot trends and develop long‑term solutions.
• Deliver onboarding, training and ongoing support to maximise system value for users.
• Produce and maintain reports, operational data and management information to aid decision‑making.
• Maintain process documentation, share best practices and contribute to continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience in systems support, business support, operations support or a similar business systems role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a structured approach.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving systems, processes and user experiences.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to work across multiple business functions.
