Business Travel Manager

About the role

Our client, an independent travel management company based in West London, is creating a new senior position to lead its Business Travel department. The Business Travel Manager will combine hands‑on operational work with people leadership, overseeing a team of nine consultants while also managing a portfolio of key corporate accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Business Travel Consultants through regular one‑to‑ones, coaching and performance reviews.
• Manage daily workloads, resources and department operations to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
• Foster a collaborative, high‑performing culture focused on exceptional customer service.
• Support employee engagement, wellbeing and professional development initiatives.
• Handle employee relations matters and liaise with senior management as required.
• Partner with the Assistant Manager to ensure smooth departmental processes.
• Maintain a small portfolio of key corporate accounts and act as escalation point for complex client queries.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and succession planning for the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business travel management, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of travel consultants.
• Strong operational expertise with a track record of managing corporate travel accounts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, values‑led workplace culture.
