Capital Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Capital Project Manager to join the Capital Team of a large NHS organisation in Slough. The role involves overseeing a varied portfolio of capital projects, including maintenance and refurbishment works, from feasibility through to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of capital projects, covering design, procurement and construction phases.
• Lead feasibility studies and develop detailed project briefs with key stakeholders.
• Produce specifications and oversee tender processes to secure suitable contractors.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and on‑site works, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
• Monitor budgets, timelines and progress, reporting regularly to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, NHS policies and health & safety requirements.
• Support the wider capital programme by contributing to programme planning and risk management.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in construction, engineering, surveying or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering complex capital projects within a construction or public‑sector environment.
• Strong budget management and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
