Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role

As a Care Assistant in a Barchester care home, you will support residents in their daily lives, ensuring they receive high‑quality, compassionate care. You will help with personal tasks, provide companionship, and contribute to a warm, safe environment where each resident can enjoy their day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with eating, drinking and personal hygiene following individual care plans.
• Provide one‑to‑one time and social interaction to promote wellbeing.
• Support residents in mobility and daily living activities.
• Record observations and communicate any changes in residents’ condition to the senior staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within the care home.

Required profile

• Previous experience caring for older people or in a similar care setting.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Empathy, warmth and a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals.
