Caretaker – Short-Term Opportunity in Sunderland

About the role

This short‑term caretaker position supports the daily upkeep of a residential complex in Sunderland for approximately three weeks. The role is hands‑on, requires independent work, and contributes to a safe and welcoming environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Keep communal areas clean and tidy, including vacuuming and glass cleaning.
• Maintain shared toilets and rooms to a high standard.
• Support access and refuge management as required.
• Monitor bin chutes and report any emergencies promptly.
• Perform general cleaning and manual handling tasks throughout the site.

Required profile

• Reliable and hands‑on attitude.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Basic DBS check clearance.
• Availability for the full shift pattern: Mon‑Thu 8:00‑16:30, Fri 8:00‑12:00.
• Willingness to wear steel‑cap boots and black trousers (other equipment provided).

Required skills

• Ability to follow health and safety procedures.
• Basic manual handling competence.

• Hourly rate of £14.29 (PAYE).
