Casual Support Worker

About the role

Beaulieu House, a children's home and short breaks service run by the Isle of Wight Council, is looking for enthusiastic, caring and reliable casual support workers. The service supports children and young people with learning disabilities, communication needs (including non-verbal and pre-verbal individuals), autism, health and medical needs and behaviours of concern. The role suits experienced support workers wanting flexibility, people gaining experience in children's residential care, and those considering a career in health, social care, education, nursing or psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support
• Support young people with communication, routines and daily living skills
• Assist with personal care and promote independence where appropriate
• Encourage positive behaviour through therapeutic and proactive approaches
• Take part in activities, outings and social opportunities
• Work closely with families, education providers, therapists and other professionals
• Maintain accurate records of young people's achievements and progress
