Category Manager – Construction Procurement (GPO)

About the role

Amazon's Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is looking for a Category Manager to lead construction procurement across Europe. You will shape sourcing strategies for multi‑million‑dollar real‑estate projects, working with internal teams and external suppliers to drive cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for construction categories (civil, architectural, MEP, fire protection, fit‑out) across Europe.
• Manage relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and OEMs to ensure continuity of supply.
• Identify synergies, benchmark performance, and drive innovation to achieve economies of scale.
• Negotiate, execute, and manage framework agreements and contracts.
• Support Amazon’s Climate Pledge by integrating sustainability initiatives into procurement.
• Provide market intelligence and strategic insights to senior leadership.
• Own category targets, deliver incremental value, and improve procurement processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction procurement or category management, preferably within large‑scale real‑estate projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to assess market trends and risk factors.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Self‑starter who thrives in fast‑paced, results‑driven environments.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of construction trades: civil works, architectural design, interior fit‑out, MEP systems, fire protection.
• Experience with cost optimization techniques such as value engineering and standardization.
