Chief Registrar – Emergency Medicine (Senior Trainee)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Emergency Medicine trainee (ST4 level or above) to join Frimley Park Hospital as Chief Registrar. The role provides 40 % protected non‑clinical time to develop leadership, management and quality‑improvement skills through a Royal College of Physicians bespoke development programme.

Key responsibilities

• Attend RCP development modules covering change management, team culture, quality improvement, leadership, influencing and personal resilience.
• Lead and support projects that address service improvement, staff engagement, education, training, workforce planning and sustainability.
• Work under the mentorship of a senior clinical leader, gaining insight into NHS leadership and management processes.
• Balance clinical duties with allocated non‑clinical time, working full‑time or part‑time as agreed.

Required profile

• National Training Number (NTN) or Locally Employed Doctor at ST4 level or above.
• Full GMC registration.
• Interest in leadership, management and quality improvement.
• Comfortable working in uncertain environments and across traditional boundaries.
• Committed to improving the NHS.
