Child and Family Lifestyle Coach

About the role

As a Child and Family Lifestyle Coach you will join HCRG Care Group’s 0‑19 Children and Young People Service, supporting families across Warwickshire to improve health and wellbeing. You will work directly with children, young people and their families, delivering evidence‑based interventions that promote healthy eating, physical activity, breastfeeding, responsive weaning and oral health.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct holistic assessments to identify health and lifestyle needs of children, young people and families.
• Develop personalised support plans focusing on nutrition, activity and overall wellbeing.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and group sessions in family hubs, schools, clinics and community settings.
• Provide advice on breastfeeding, responsive weaning and oral health.
• Apply motivational interviewing and other behaviour‑change techniques to encourage sustainable change.
• Monitor progress, record outcomes and contribute to service evaluation.
• Signpost families to local services and community resources.
• Collaborate with health visitors, school nurses, family hubs and partner agencies.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in health improvement, public health or community development.
• Experience working with babies, children, young people and families.
• Knowledge of behaviour‑change techniques, especially motivational interviewing.
• Understanding of public health and health promotion principles.
• Strong communication and group‑facilitation abilities.
