Child & Youth Support Worker – Residential Care

About the role

Paragon Social Care provides 24/7 support to children and young people in local authority care, especially during crises and transitions. As a Child & Youth Support Worker you will join a compassionate team delivering trauma‑informed care in residential settings and community‑based packages.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, consistent, trauma‑informed support to children and young people.
• Build positive, professional relationships based on trust and respect.
• Assist with daily routines, independence, education and life‑skill development.
• Encourage participation in activities, hobbies and healthy routines.
• Support attendance at appointments, education and community activities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and care planning.
• Transport young people as required (own vehicle essential).

Required profile

• Calm, resilient and emotionally mature approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
• Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary) is desirable.
• NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is desirable but not essential.

• £17.50‑£24.00 per hour PAYE rate (including holiday pay) or £20.00‑£28.00 per hour Umbrella rate.
