Childcare Solicitor – Hybrid (North East England)

About the role
This is a hybrid position based in the North East, offering a competitive rate of £65 per hour. The role starts on an eight‑month contract with the possibility of extension, supporting a local authority client.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Chief Solicitor in delivering comprehensive legal services to the Council.
- Conduct research and provide advice on all aspects of local government law and practice, under supervision.
- Assist in preparing legal proceedings, including drafting applications and maintaining related paperwork.
- Attend court hearings, tribunals and meetings to observe proceedings, record outcomes and ensure the authority meets its duties.
Required profile
- Ability to work under supervision while supporting senior legal staff.
- Strong interest in local government law and practice.
- Willingness to attend court, tribunals and stakeholder meetings as required.

What we offer
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- Hourly rate between £55 and £65.
- Potential for contract extension beyond the initial eight months.
