Children Law Solicitor – Family & Children Department

About the role

Our client, a top‑tier law firm recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, is seeking a Children Law Solicitor to join its Family & Children department in Manchester. The role is permanent and involves providing specialist advice and representation across a wide range of children‑related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive children‑law services, including divorce, financial disputes, international child abduction, adoption, injunctions and non‑molestation orders.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members and other solicitors.
• Supervise and mentor trainee solicitors and caseworkers, managing caseloads of varying complexity.
• Contribute to business development and marketing activities to grow the department’s client base.
• Assist with the design and delivery of internal training programmes.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with NQ status and up to 3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Demonstrated experience in family and children law, including high‑net‑worth divorce matters.
• Strong client‑care orientation and proactive approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively and supervise junior staff.
