Children's Residential Support Worker – Oxford

About the role
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker you will be a key part of daily life for young people living in our Oxford homes. You will help them navigate highs and lows, support their education, and create a safe, nurturing environment where they can rebuild their childhood and develop toward adulthood.
Key responsibilities
- Assist young people with morning routines, school preparation and homework.
- Plan and deliver recreational activities, including sports, games and outings.
- Complete necessary paperwork, maintain records and support the administrative side of care.
- Provide evening and weekend support, ensuring a balanced mix of fun and structure.
- Collaborate with senior staff to develop individual care plans and monitor progress.
Required profile
- Commitment to working with young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Reliability and good attendance, with the ability to undertake up to four sleep‑ins per month.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Positive attitude and resilience in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Required skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy for record‑keeping and reporting.
- Ability to engage young people in educational and recreational activities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
What we offer
- Competitive salary (£29,034‑£35,400 base) with bonuses for sleep‑ins and attendance.
- Additional allowances: £1,400 attendance, £2,000 regional, £1,000 welcome and £1,000 loyalty.
