Children's Social Worker – Children In Need

About the role

Worcestershire Council is looking for a dedicated Children’s Social Worker to join its Children in Need team in Worcester. You will work directly with children and families, assessing needs, managing risk and safeguarding wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families.
• Develop, implement and review personalised care plans and interventions.
• Maintain a manageable caseload of children in need.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to deliver holistic support.
• Ensure compliance with statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures.
• Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records and documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work.
• Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
• Proven experience working with children and families, preferably in a Children in Need context.
• Strong assessment, planning and intervention abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
