Children's Social Worker - Duty and Assessment

About the role

The Council is seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join the Duty and Assessment team in Rochdale. You will deliver high‑quality social work services, assessing and supporting children and families in line with legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the needs of children, young people and their families, identifying risk and protection concerns.
• Design, arrange and monitor appropriate care provisions.
• Provide direct social work assistance and support to service users.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with partner agencies.
• Ensure compliance with council policies, legislation and specialist practice standards.
• Plan, implement and evaluate interventions, considering available resources.

Required profile

• Registered social worker with experience in children’s services.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and council policies.
• Ability to engage effectively with children, families and multi‑agency partners.
• Commitment to high standards of customer care and safeguarding.

Required skills
